Honestly, i still find it really difficult to find my way around this fact -Two-hundred+ girls missing, with no tangible information as to their fate, and possibilities of their release so far.
Two-hundred girls is quite an immense number of tangible matters to convey but yet missing!
This is another way o saying "the resultant effect of All Nigerian Armed and Unarmed Forces is just a unit above -1. and also, the dominating tendencies of psychological and behavioral instability is becoming more apparent- the BokoHaram sect, been one of the conspicuous consequences.
This mishaps amongst others, is a very reliable symptom of the holistic state of Nigeria and we had better start reacting before we experience a total breakdown.
...now, my opinion is...
Majority of Nigerians, take up an occupation of whatsoever degree or function, as a mere means of survival and inherently, passion is not seen any where around their activities. If a police man who is at a duty post, fulfilling is own side of his deal with the Nigerian Police force, approach a criminal scene as he is obliged to, will, without a second thought, suspend his normal obligation of advocating justice if the so called Criminal is willing to facilitate his going home to his family, with heavy pockets. Of course we applaud those that will say; "it is not all about the money". but that truly works in an enabling environment where passion is been instigated naturally or artificially.
Imagine a police officer who became one as a result of his decision from childhood when his uncle was murdered in his presence by armed robbers, and one who is a police officer because he is a graduate but hasn't a dream job yet but have to make ends meet anyways.
I'm not saying one has to have his uncle or other relative killed before he/she becomes a good police officer-that was just an example of a natural passion- instigator. we need to build an economy where survival is subsidized by the government. where people do not basically work for money to get food for continual existence, but to impact positively, their immediate communities with their talents and skills.this can only work where there is a conscious act of stewardship, where everyone knows the true meaning of "my country", where everyone is educational matured enough to see beyond any possible reason for disunity and conflict and too busy building a world that would one day become a global standard-worthy of emulation.
Nigerians are wonderful people who have excelled in a vast array of endeavors; in science; D.K Olukoya, Philip Emeagwali, Adeoye Lambo, etc. in Education: E.A Adeboye, Chimamanda Adichie, Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe etc.and lots more. Sadly they live the negative meaning of this parable:
"In a table lies a very durable, state-of-the-art, li-on battery, on same table lies other stuffs such as; a set of screws, a mobile phone motherboard, a mobile phone LCD screen, and other mobile phone parts. they are all authentic in themselves but will not really be fulfilled if not brought together and incorporated into a mobile phone where the role of every part in unity though of varying magnitude, makes communication a reality."
True success is relational we've got to discourage every form of isolation. Marriage and chemical bonding are very good instances of two different things coming together to bring about an awesome outcome.
we need to learn from this phenomena and impact a positively colossal change together, in unity!
Nigeria can be a great country if we collectively desire and work out the necessary changes. Together we can do this!
Major-General Olukolade had initially said that all but eight of the girls were saved, citing information provided by the school’s principal, but families on Thursday contested the claim.
Likewise, the Commissioner for Education in Borno state, Comrade Inuwa Kubo penultimate Thursday revealed that about 30 school girls out of the 129 who were abducted on Tuesday by suspected Boko Haram terrorists have been officially rescued .
Kubo while reacting to the miliatary’s claim in a telephone chat with our Correspondent said, “ I have been having a 24 hours contact with the principal of the school since the sad incident happened, in fact I spoke with her this morning ( last Thursday ) and she said, only 30 students have been rescued. But I am happy to inform you that the military authorities have come out publicly to say that 80 of the abducted students have been rescued, with only 8 of them still in the custody of the abductors.
“ I am not a military man who will give the actual situation of things, but I believe, for the military to say that only 8 of the victims are still in the custody of the terrorists, which means the 80 of those rescued according to military may be in the custody of the military operatives who have been doing their best to safely and freely see to the rescue of the the victims”, Kubo said then.
